Overall Safety plan
The Safety has been written to cover the scope of work to be undertaken for the activities involving the Maintenance Work for CLIENT.
POKIN is committed to the protection of the Personal working in the Environment and others who may be affected by its activities.
In fulfilling this commitment to provide for the protection of people, property and the environment, POKIN and CLIENT take protective measures to eliminate any foreseeable hazards in advance, which may result in accidental loss and where this is not totally possible shall take stringent control measures to reduce such hazards to an acceptable level.
In additional management and line supervision will have the responsibility to achieve and maintain a well informed and motivated workforce who will effectively contribution to the overall success of the safety programme.

The prime objective of this Safety Plan is to detail the organization, arrangement and steps necessary to ensure that safety is the prime consideration throughout the project execution.
1. COMPANY The COMPANY is CLIENT.To provide the resource and information necessary for the safety design and construction of the project.
2. CONTRACTOR The Contractor as referred in this procedure means Pokin Engineering & Development Co.,Ltd. (POKIN)
a) To ensure the coordination and cooperation between POKIN and CLIENT.
b) To enforce compliance with the site safety requirements.
c) Report any injury, dangerous occurrence or property damage inferred in connection with the contract.
3. SITE SUPERVISOR
a) To ensure that a construction Safety Plan is in place, prior to the commencement of any work.
b) To maintain a safety file which include as – builds and work method statements necessary for the maintenance and other works that is
carried out for CLIENT.
4. ALL SITE EMPLOYEES. Shall co-operate with POKIN and CLIENT in achieving the objectives of this Safety plan. Shall report any defect or circumstance likely to give rise to an accident / incident.
The following responsibilities reflect the project organization.
1. POKIN SUPERVISOR
a) Management of the construction program relevant to their area of responsibility and the Field.
b) Supervision directing the work.
c) Carry out regular inspections, minimum twice weekly, accompanied by the Safety Engineer of the CLIENT.
d) Coordinate the preparation of scope of work and sign associated Permit to work Requests.
e) Actively encourage the effective implementation of the Construction Safety Plan in areas under their control.
f) Monitor and comment upon the effective completion of all accident / incident reports pertinent to their areas.
g) Investigate all serious accident / incidents in areas under their control, in conjunction with Safety Engineer of the CLIENT.
SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM.
1. SAFETY INDUCTION
All personnel working for POKIN will be required to attend a site safety induction briefing before commencing work. Induction training will be carried out at the Induction Center and given by a designated Safety Engineer of the CLIENT.Subject covered in the POKIN induction briefing
a ) Scope of Work.
b ) Overview of the program and hazards addressed – Project specific POKIN ENGINEERING & DEVELOPMENT CO.,LTD.
c ) Safety philosophy for the job.
d ) The construction organization.
e ) Protective clothing, minimum site requirements and legal considerations.
f ) Reporting of Accidents / incidents.
g ) First Aid Facilities.
h ) Fire Prevention and Suppression.
i ) Housekeeping.
j ) Noise at Work.
k ) Radiography.
l ) Auditing.
m ) Toolbox Talks.
n ) Scaffoldings.
o ) Manual handling of Materials.
p ) Hot work including compressed gas cylinders storage and use.
q ) Respiratory protection.
r ) Electrical Equipment.
s ) Incentive schemes.
t ) Cooperation with CLIENT.
u ) Communications.
v ) Planning safety – everybody’s responsibilities.
w ) Drug and Alcohol Policy.
x ) Emergency Response Action.
2. SAFETY INDUCTION
A Safety Booklet specific to the Contract will be developed and issued at the Induction briefing to all POKIN Employees.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT - P.P.E.
Contractor will provide the following : -
1. MINIMUM P.P.E. REQUIREMENTS : -
a ) Head Protection to AS 1800 and AS 1801.
b ) Steel Toe-Capped Footwear to AS 2210.
c ) Eye Protection to AS 1337.
d ) Gloves.
e ) Hearing Protection to AS 1270.
f ) Suitable Protective Clothing.
2. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS : -
POKIN will provided the following safety clothing and equipment as require for the activity being undertaken.
a ) Goggles of full face visors.
b ) Disposable coveralls.
c ) Impervious coveralls as indicated by Permit conditions.
d ) Rubber boots with toe protectors and reinforced soles.
e ) Lifelines.
f ) Filtered eye protection for welding operators.
g ) Approved respiratory protective equipment.
A medical facility will be provided equipped with the facilities to provide first aid treatment sufficient, if necessary, to stabilize a patient for transportation to hospital. A medical procedure will be developed for the transfer of injured personal to hospital.
FIRE PREVENTATION AND PROTECTION.
Due to the possible hazards associated with hot work activities, training requirements will be developed covering fire prevention and protection. Adequate fire suppression equipment will be located at potential fire points strategically placed on the project, backup support fire fighting resources shall be co - ordinate in advance and appropriate plan established.
